1982 Large Date 3.1 oz??

    Came across this 82 a few minutes ago. This shouldn't be. Any help? TIA

    3.1 oz. is about 3 ounces too much.

    Your 3rd pic clearly shows 3.1 gram…which is about as normal as you can get. It’s a 1982 Philadelphia Large Date Copper, has wear and corrosion and is probably a spender…imo…Spark

    It should be and it is. You have one of the 7 different known business strike varieties Minted in 1982. It is the first one on the list.

    You have a very common and normal large date copper cent from 1982.

    The cent from 82 that is special will be the small date Denver @ 3.1 grams .
