    One of our regulars is @paddyman98 who is an accomplished metal detectorist. He will often post photos of his daily finds and they all have that reddish hue to them. I would feel confident in saying that dime spent a portion of its life in the dirt.

    Correct. But not totally exposed but also buried. It's called Environmental Damage.

    to bad it don’t have the full band on the reverse. But it is kinda neat. It is a spender....
