1982 d penny duplicate mint mark error or environmental damage

    I found a 1982 d penny that appears to have 2 mint marks in completely separated locations. One in the correct location and the other to the left of the date. Does this appear to be a minting error or is it caused from bubbling of the copper playing?

    That would be Plating bubble issue.

    Happens when air gets in the metal. Very common on zinc cents.

    Yes to a plating bubble and yes to very common on those cheap Zinc Cents.
