I'm going through my change drawer today looking for varieties and errors in my cents. My question to everyone is how do I tell the difference between the 95% copper and the 99% zinc cents, other then weighing them. Is there a way?

One way is to weigh them copper is 3.11 grams and zinc is 2.6 if my memory is correct. And personally I can tell the differnce by flicking them into the air. Copper cents ring and the zinc ones are silent.

Or drop them on a hard surface, the copper has a ring, the zinc has a thud.

Yes this one works too. I keep a whole bag of just 1982 pennies because I am too lazy to check them all.
