1981D Die Clipped penny??

I JUST found this. I had to post it right away. It looks like it's clipped. The reverse is not perfectly turned the right way when you flip the coin. The reverse is more like 20-30 degrees off.

Can you give us a clearer photo of the edge?

No Blakesly, but that don't mean nothin'.

I'm inclined to think the coin was bashed in on the edge of contact but I'm no expert on these........

 

1) it is a cent.
2) Me thinks Ken is correct

It's so hard to tell! But I'm going to go with my gut feeling and say it looks like PMD, but I can't be sure.

 

Just wondering, what exactly are you looking for?

the angle of the 'clip' makes it look like PMD

 

Its enough to convince me that its PMD.

I don't think a microscope would help IMO.

 

The scope is for general use of my search for varieties, not so much on this coin.
