    What is DCM proof?
What do you mean by Type 2?

It's a impaired proof Dime. Meaning it was released into circulation and now considered damaged.
You can keep whatever you want.

About you thread title.. It's a Capital S not s.

    S for San Francisco

How did you make those elongated pictures? Those are really cool.

As Paddyman98 said, it is a circulated, and therefore impaired, proof. Not much money value, but hey, it cost you only a dime. I think it is a cool find, and I'd keep it.

    Hey Rick.
While it’s definitely a treat to find something like that “in the wild,” it’s not worth much over face value. By 1982 the mint had pretty much perfected their proof coinage minting process and nearly every example was either CAM or DCAM, so the cameo contrast your example exhibits isn’t rare or even uncommon.
If you want to keep it and note on a 2x2 when and where you received it in change for sentimental value, that’s about all it would be worth.
