Hello friends at coin talk. Here I have a 1981 P dime with DDO on the mint mark. Could anyone tell me any info on this coin, and possible value please?
Your coin was stuck from very worn dies. The fine lines radiating towards the rim are characteristic of this. You're just seeing die deterioration doubling. Even minor errors such as die chips and small die cracks are not that easy to find. But most of these have little to no premium over face value. I would be more concerned with understanding the minting process so you can ID real errors and less about how much they are worth. If you plan on getting rich searching rolls, then those you tube guys scammed another victim. Is there stuff out there? Yes, but finding them is equivalent to beating the multimillion to one odds of winning the lottery.
