    It has the woodgrain look, for sure.

    I personally believe it is roller marks, but that is a topic for the future ;)

    Not a woodie. Lines from the rollers. IMHO
    A true "Woodie" is an improperly mixed alloy in the planchet, while the roller lines are caused by machinery rolling the material into strips.

    Vote roller marks, looks too symmetrical for improperly mixed alloy.

    They're roller marks, you tell that because they're too regular. They add a dimension, though, and we keep ours, too. They turn up on these 1980s cents. Don't know why, but that they do.

    I like it, even if it is not a true “woody.” The roller striating gives it a rather interesting texture. It is a coin I would be happy to own.
