There was a charity auction in May and I bid on lots of coins. I also bid on the following: 1981 Gold-Plated JFK Half, Liberty Punchout. A neat piece with a large punchout of Liberty through the obverse. When lying on a table, the nose of Liberty is probably about half an inch off the table, giving this coin some impressive depth. There was no picture so I didn't know what I was really bidding on. Well I won it for $3. I love it!! Just thought I would share it with you all!!
I think these are really cool. You will also here them called pushed out or popped out. They were made with many different types of coins as far back as the early 1900s.
Larry you don't seem to find them that much. I also think they are really cool and plan to get some more!!
I think they are cool - the OP coin really looks nice but they are all something else. If I saw one, I'd pick it up if the price was reasonable! Thanks for sharing!
