1980's pennies

    anyone know how this "hump" around the rim is caused? i see it a lot on coins from the 80's, but cant find any info on what does this. 1987.jpg 1987-1.jpg 1989.jpg 1989-1.jpg

    I believe it is the result of heavy die wear.
