Oh, please....use some common sense. POST MINT DAMAGE. Do you really think it left the mint like that?
So, how would you then explain the uneven layering and the perfectly planed damage around the rim of the coin, but no damage , so to speak, to the eagle or the bust of Washington
I believe that if you were to hold this coin in your hand, and see it in 3-D, your opinion would drastically change, my friend
Nope.. DEFDAM - Definitely Damaged Dented and worn over the years. Not a mint error of any kind. Did you just quote yourself? Weird.
Please take a look at a mint state example, forget the toning. And please state how you think your coin does not have any damage.
Would you be kind enough to show me a photo of the edge of the coin between 8 & 9 o'clock on the reverse (9 & 10 o'clock on the obverse)? I would like to see what the reeded edge looks like.
Ooh big man with a smartphone got to get lippy....smh...calm down big guy...don't get your panties in a bunch ... it's just a f'n quarter
Take it easy. You're still new here. The mods know how to read between the lines, and bad language is a no-no. Your new photos still aren't good enough for me to tell, but it does look like damage in the area I asked about. Ordinarily, I might think that the rim between 1 & 5 o'clock on the obverse could be an off-center strike, but the reverse anomaly doesn't match up with it. If there are reeds on that edge of the coin, it would have to be PMD, too.
Great start as a new member. One of the more experienced and respected members here gives you a valid answer and you give abuse back. Wonderful
That Quarter is damaged, and there is no error of any kind on it, in it, or about it. Everything you see on that quarter occurred well after it was already in circulation. Face value - spend it and confuse someone else.
just remember, a coin can be damaged MORE than once, by MORE than one person, by MORE than one way, in MORE than one year/day/month etc If I ran a coin over by my lawn mower #1, then it was spit into the road and ran over by many cars for roadrash #2 then picked up by someone who tried to jam it #3 into a coin slot to do laundry then threw it aside and someone pocketed it, which got thrown into a dryer and fell between the two drums #4 then got heat damage #5, then someone picked it out of the dryer and then thought .. gee ... a mint error ?? nah, just a damaged coin. Try to think beyond what you believe. Do research here on "error quarters" and keep looking through hundreds of pages and you'll see similar damaged coins.
