I was searching rolls of halves today and came across this. I didn't find any silver btw, but only checked 50$ worth. Anyone know anything about these? Are they common? Worth anything besides 50 cents? Thanks!

What i was talking about is the reeding that is on the obverse. On the left side, its supposed to only be on the edge, but this one has reeding on the rim of the obverse. I can get better pics if necessary.

Looks like a perfectly normal Kennedy half to me.

    rickmp Frequently flatulent.

Slightly misaligned die? Partial collar? Railroad rim?

Please post a pic of the edge.

Collar clash. At one time the obv die was misaligned far enough that the part of the die that creates the top of the rim clashed against the edge of the collar leaving clashmarks on it that look like the top edge of the reeding. After it was realigned it shows those clashmarks on the top surface of the rim.

Thanks Conder101, good explanation, it makes sense to me now.
