198- something dime with smooth edge

    I have a 198- something dime with a smooth copper rim to it. You can't read the last digit in the date. I have included some pictures. I have had this for years but I always wondered how it ended up this way.

    I am gonna guess Spooned or a dryer coin.

    Dryer coin.. Damaged when trapped between the drum and wall of a dryer.

    This looks like a dryer coin to me. If it had been "spooned", all of the devices would still be fairly sharp, but this coin has heat damage from extended time in a dryer.

    Okay the dryer I understand, but not spooner. What is that?

    @paddyman98 he has a small video the rim is hit over and over with a spoon to make a ring .

    The Cool thing is @paddyman98 has been spooning that same coin for years and years now and I have not seen a ring! :D:D:D
