1979s LMC with 1981s type II mm

    Picked this up today to fill my 79s type II spot. But after taking a closer look once I got home, looks flat like the 81s type II?

    It's been a long time for me. I'm thinking the type II S in 1979 became the type I in 1981. Is that correct?

    Correct. The OP's coin has a type II Mint mark from 1979.

    The 81 type to mark has a less symmetrical S with one loop larger than the other
