    Hello,

First let me say that I love collecting coins and currency. I still consider myself a beginner but I've been collecting for a few years now since I was 16.

I have a question regarding some proof coins that I have. They were minted at the Leningrad mint in the year of 1979.

it comes with a box cover (written in english and russian) and inside it comes with a Declaration of Origin and a Certificate of Authenticity which states:

I would like to know how many were minted, what is the PandaAmerica, value of these coins, what there metal contents are.

Thanks to anyone who can help me.

I will post of pic when I can

texguy, we need some more info. First of all is this a Russian mint set and how many coins are in it ? Based on the description you quoted, it sounds like it might be an aftermarket set made up of individual coins. Anyway, a 1979 Russian mint set should have 9 coins and it has a Krause value of under $10.

PandaAmerica is the name of a large coin dealer, they are not known for selling the best quality material.

Doug, what Richard has got is an official mint set, which has a mint token depicting the Leningrad Mint (now St. Petersburg Mint) building in it.It also comes in a box with a bilingually inscribed certificate.

Well Aidan, the reason I question that is because the so called certificate of authenticity is signed by Panda America - not the Russian mint.

it comes with a bilingually inscribed token from the Leningrad Mint and it says in english & Russian:

    Leningrad Mint Goznak
    The Ministry of Finance USSR

and it comes with another medal that is square and it says in english (back) and in Russian (Front):

    SET OF COINS 1976

There is a total of 9 coins which are:

Coins of the USSR in Circulation

    1.) 1 Rouble
    2.) 50 Kopecks
    3.) 20 Kopecks
    4.) 15 Kopecks
    5.) 10 Kopecks
    6.) 5 Kopecks
    7.) 3 Kopecks
    8.) 2 Kopecks
    9.) 1 Kopeck
    10.) Leningrd Mint's Token
