1979 penny weighs 2.66 grams

    IMG_E5754.JPG IMG_E5755.JPG I noticed a penny that felt light so I put it on my scale and it weighed just 2.66 grams. Is this common or ... ??? I havent been doing this long and have never come across this before. Thanks IMG_E5754.JPG

    2.66 is light.. But a bit lighter and they would be considered Struck on Thin Planchet. They are usually at the 2.44 or below range
