I came across this 1979 quarter that seems to have a wide separation similar to the type b quarters of earlier years. This is obviously a late die state coin based on the spread in some of the lettering. However, I keep looking at the distance between the pluribus and Unum below it. Also, there is a wider spread between pluribus and states. Maybe it's just simply a worn out die, but I'm looking for opinions before mailing it off to Wexler and wasting his time. thanks The uncirculated coin pictured is for comparison. That one is a normal 1979 P.
you'd be wasting his time, very late die state, you can tell by all the die deterioration doubling....
Everyone is looking for microscopic differences which they think are worth a million dollars. Very perplexing
Has anyone published the book, "Doubled Dies for Dummies"? What about, "Die Cracks for Dummies"? Chris
or Double Cracked DieHeads for Dummies ? you'll like this, I'm sure the title will make you cringe ==>
