On Sep 22 I posted a 1979 p quarter that weighed 4.9g and asked if it is struck on wrong stock and one possible suggestion was a thin planet. However... I just found ANOTHER one. What are the odds of 2 of the same being thin planchets? Or would this help lean towards wrong stock? Thank you

It's possible. Why not? Let's see some better pictures of both sides and the edge.

Well when they roll the planchet, how many coins do they punch out of it?
And who knows how many thin planchets they rolled out, before they discovered it and changed the settings on the machine?

Well if the strip is rolled thin the whole roll will be thin, and since a roll of clad strip is around 3,000 pounds they could punch around 200,000+ planchets from the roll.

I didn't know if it was only certain areas of the strip that would be thin. still though...200,000 isn't really a lot compared to how many are made of that year. and with all the coins in circulation and almost 40 years later and I found 2? I guess that in itself is kinda cool. shows my hearing isn't failing...yet.
