I have searched around the net about this penny and was wondering if "railroading" is the correct term for this extra edge on the penny. Also, it is off-center but I don't know by how much. 1979 Penny.jpg

Is the reverse normal? If the reverse is also off-center, then it's an off-center strike. If the reverse is normal, then it was caused by a misaligned hammer die.

Great answer. I was thinking the same thing. Always like to see both sides of the coin:)
