1979 D penny 7 on bust

    7 on Lincoln's bust. Due to circulation damage it's hard to tell if it's just damage or a dropped 7. What are you guys opinion?

    Here is an educated answer.. If it were a dropped 7 it would be the exact same size as the 7 in the date. That incused issue looks larger. Since it is not then I can truly tell you that it is not a dropped element.

    So by proccess of elimination then it could only be circulation damage.

    You're welcome.. That is an interesting looking issue. I can see why you would think it's what you thought it was.

    Where this coin has some damage from being in circulation would make it hard to get it authenticated even if it was from a dropped letter. I have a few dropped letter coins. some are slabbed and some are not.
