1979 d mint penny

    8B88BD09-DB90-4ECB-8A38-EE9B4B7909C8.jpeg In this 1979 penny(right) the mint mark D is pushed out instead of just the outline. Is this considered an error coin? How much possibly would this be worth? As you can see on the left, the 1971 mint mark is just the outline instead than looking on the right at the 1979 penny you can notice that the mint mark stands out and is pushed out

    Not an error and only worth face value. The mintmark took a hit and has been flattened and then with 40 years of circulation....you end up with it looking like this.

    Thank you for clearing that up. I recently started collecting coins and I have been finding some from the 1940s 50s and 60s
