I was going through my stash, when I came across this. You can see where the leg of the 9 its narrow at the bottom but to the right of it you clearly see where the 9 extends out.
I'll get you some later today after work. I see a 1959 that has the same look. Although, mine doesn't appear to the doubling at the top of the 9.
Here are some pics. They're at different angles to show that this isn't flat. You can surely see the difference in the thickness on the numerals.
Were you able to see the pics? Looks like an offset hub, maybe? The reason for that, is it's the furthest numeral and it's the out side portion. I'm confident it's not a MD because this is not flat. It has the same look as the 1959 but that's a different class of DD.
