This is a 1978 D Jefferson nickel with a very "skinny" N in the word United on the reverse. I appreciate all opinions.
Die Deterioration. Struck through grease. Compacted grease on the die hardened and didn't allow the letter N to form properly. Nothing really major.
It was struck by a die that should have been taken out of service and it was also struck with grease on the die. Not a mint error in the true sense of the word error.
