1979 D Jefferson Nickle. Looked like pitting at first but upon closer inspection two of the shapes looks like ‘D’. The ‘O’ in God is spread out as well. Could this even be done at strike? Damage on rim by the ‘O’ is on both sides.
Area around the incused marks is not raised.

Got it. Can you help me see what I missed that indicates pmd?

The same type of damage occures over the coin many times, plus the coin is so worn that had it been a dropped letter it too would of been worn away.
When looking for items as such in raw coins one must first study other "known examples " to know what is real and what is damage.

I have done that a lot with a few thousand pennies. Looking at all under the scope. Really hoping to find a Doubled die but just lots of MD. Found CopperCoins for comparing those. Is there something similar for Nickles and more?
NGC has some but mostly DD errors and lacking detail in photos.

    Appreciate the help.

As a rule, if you cannot see true doubling with a 10x loupe, it really isn't worth much at all.
