Hi. I happened to be looking through my Kennedy Half Dollars and just noticed that when flipping it, the reverse sits at about 3-4 O’clock(ish) it’s not in top notch condition but this is the first coin I’ve run across that hasn’t matched up. Any help in determining what this might be worth would be most appreciated. Thanks

    It's either a Rotated Die issue....or
A magicians coin. Could be a Kennedy that was machined in order to make another piece fit in. Try putting the half into a jar and shaking it a bit to see if it comes apart.

If you google the Scotch and soda magic trick you can see different version with different coins. They include a bang ring to separate the 2 parts

The rim is cut into the legend on the reverse, so I'd say Paddy is right - it's a magician's coin.

I can’t get it apart yet, any suggestions other than the jar to get it apart? Is it threaded maybe so I can just spin the reverse off? I’ve tried but can’t get it yet and I don’t have one of those rim collar things

Care to shoot photos of the inside? I'd be curious as to what it looks like!

There were 2 coins in the back? How does something like this end up in circulation?
It's worth more than 50 cents.

Only the one coin. Pictures are of the same coin originally posted after it was opened. Not sure how it ended up in circulation.
