I found this 1976 two dollar note in my parent's album of notes and I saw this weird print. Does anyone know what they might be?

Looks like an extra print of everyone's legs or feet lol

It might be a transfer of the letters below Jefferson's portrait.

They look to be underneath the picture and then got printed on top. I just confirmed that they are either shoes or legs pointed the opposite directions.

Not a transfer, just embossing. The face side is printed last, so any embossing of the back printing gets obliterated by the embossing of the face printing. In this case, we're looking at the shapes of the letters of "United States of America" from the front of the note, in reverse.

Also common on $1 notes, where people keep asking why so many brand-new notes have a "fingerprint" in the center of the back (it's actually the embossing of the ridges from Washington's coat).

I took a look again and it does not say "united states", it shows the shoes and legs as well as the table and chair legs reversed. I'll have to outline it so everyone can see it.
