Shows that it was one of the first bills to be released for general circulation, and thus carries a (very) slightly higher premium than the bill alone would in CU condition.

First day of issue for the $2 new reverse. If someone is willing to pay a little extra for it dosen't that mean it has extra value? Isn't the value of anything what someone is willing to pay for it?
