Does this look like it's silver? The rim has a clearly split copper color, which may just be the toned color or not... the obverse/reverse has tones, but I'm not sure it is naturally toned as it looks "swirly" and dotted in certain areas. Thoughts appreciated.

    Did you weigh it?

Forget to mention... it comes in at 11.74 grams. Above the silver weight of 11.5 grams (the clad one weighs less than that).

The 90% silver weights 12.5 g, the silver clad is 11.5 g. (I had to look them up...lol).

I'll be interested to see the responses. Me, I got nothin'.

Yes, the silver clad one for 1976 S is 11.5 grams.

The weight is 2%+ above - I think that may be within the Mint's tolerance (?).

But, the rim is throwing me off... and not sure about the toning, either (AT?).

Though, can a clad weigh that much above - about 3.5% above from 11.34 grams to 11.74 grams?

The edge looks like 40% silver

If you don't care about dinging it, drop it and listen for the beautiful sound of silver.

I thought about dropping it, but I would regret that.

It should be the 40% silver-clad issue. What does your scale show when you weigh a '64 Kennedy? 12.5gr or more? It doesn't look like AT to me.

    Google "specific gravity test".

My 90% half dollars weigh at or really close to 12.5 grams.

I'd say silver, NT (album toning would be my guess). It's not my speed, but I do like the little UFO right next to Independence Hall at around 1:00. :)

So, you're saying it might be ET instead of AT or NT? :p
