Came across this roll on ebay. I've seen one before a few years ago at the local coin shop, was interested in it, but they had a price of 200 clams on it, so I never bothered asking any questions about it. I'm a currency collector, I know very little about coins. LOVE anything bicentennial.

Was curious to know the history behind these if anyone knows?

These were made for the bicentennial celebration. Dual date coins; quarters, halves, and dollars, were wrapped in those wrappers. The coins were struck beginning in 1975, hence why there are no quarters, halves or dollars, dated 1975.

These can sell for up to $60 a roll on eBay.

So is that the original wrapper for these? This was a roll you could order direct from the mint?

Yes Lon, these are the original mint rolls you can order. I've had several of these that were passed down from my dad before he passed. I ended up selling a couple of them for close to $75 a roll back in 2007. $200 is just a tad bit too high for this one.
