I have a 1976 penny with the state Arkansas imprinted in front of Lincoln. With the initals AK inside. Is this an error, homemade, or did the mint strike this coin. If so how rare is it?
Howdy leftfoot83 - Welcome to the Forum !! What you have is an ordinary cent that a novelty company takes and stamps in a design of a state. They did this for every state and made sets of them. They have no value to speak of.
you mean the fact that they used ak to abbreviate arkansas did not make this an error coin? that's ok, people in arkansas still use ak!!! just having fun, michael
