Hello and welcome to CoinTalk From what I can see it's a damaged Cent. I say it's what's called a Dryer Coin. A coin that somehow got caught between the drum and the wall of a dryer and was spun around for a very long period of time. That is what would cause that look on the surfaces and the edge... Not a Mint error (we have seen these on CoinTalk)
Dryer coins Don't feel bad- I've been a coin collector for 41 years but only learned this term in the last few months, myself. Regardless of my previous unfamiliarity with the term, I could've told you straight away that you've got a mechanically damaged cent there, not an error.
Your best bet is to take clear photos and then start a new thread so folks can see, comment, and assist you if need be. When new posts are made to older threads, they're often missed. Welcome to the forum, wannabe!
