    To me the Mint Mark Loos like an S over a D,

    Your coin is a D mint mark with a well placed hit (damage) on the coin, making it look like an D over S. 1976-S Jefferson Nickels were only minted in proof coins. Your coin is not a mint error.

    @Islander80-83 is right there’s no business strike “s” mint mark released. And no d over s either!
