I know very little of Ike's, Never really into them but in the Last lot of coins I purchased were several odd and somewhat rarer items.. so I am thinking the collector who had them has some clue as to what and why he kept what he kept.. In the Lot was the 1976 1.00 IKE with what looks to me as a DDR or maybe just die wear? The reverse lettering is thicker than the earlier '70's IKE's I have.. Flat and Thick...?? Can Anyone tell me about this one?? Type 1,2??? Sorry the Picture is crummy..
Not sure about the DDR. Are you thinking the word DOLLAR is doubled? May be post-mint damage. Tough to see with pic though. Here is a good link for type designation: http://ikegroup.org/76t1t2.htm TC
You're probably seeing the difference between type 1 and type 2. Looks like you have a type 1. http://www.thecoincollectingden.com/coin-information/eisenhower-dollar/
