Not sure on this one. It does look like cracking but was it caused by tampering? The way some of the rim is interesting.

I'm going with damage on this one but don't give your hopes up,strange looking errors do exist.

Thank you. Yes, I look at that straight area so that makes me question it.

I think it would take some close, in-hand scrutiny for anyone to say its an error of not. Could be a planchet defect or just PMD. I think it is interesting that some of the reeded edge seems to be missing in photo#3.

Looks like 100% pmd to me. The line has moved the 6 inwards. What looked like a fissure has displaced metal, many various amounts of evidence on that one.

I'd say damage and maybe from someone playing with metal shears/tin snip.

Maybe a good shot of the rim, all of the way around, might help others decide if error or PMD, or both.

    Interesting. Head scratcher.

I'm seeing a Tilted Collar strike in some areas. But the area in question is strange.

    JCro57 Making Errors Great Again

Look at the bottom loop of the 6. It has shifted upwards and in towards the center of the planchet; that means metal went backwards and up during a strike. That's not physically possible.

Metal flows from the center and then ouward toward the rims, not from the rims inward. The impact of the strike would have also flattened that out. I also see raised metal along the periphery of those cuts and areas of impact; those would also be flattened out. Only post-Mint tinkering could do this.

    100% damaged. Spend it

It looks like damage but I’m just not that positive that it is. Be sure to set that one aside as a keeper until a later date. It’s very interesting.
