    Yet another prospect....is this a repunched mint mark? Also what about the lettering in ....... in God we trust. Tnks

    Hi ,9 ball . Are u saying the image isn't good enough to tell if the m m is repunched? If so I looked at pic I put on here and I can see sharp image when I blow it up. I will put another pic here and see if it's better. This is what I try and avoid. I

    Mint Marks tend to get Cirulation damage especially over so many years.

    The pic isn’t the greatest on my monitor, but I can see enough to spot a circulation hit in the lower left of the D. Although I can’t see it in your pic, D mintmarks on cents from the 70s can be filled. The center of the mm stamped into the die is very small and can easily chip. You may be seeing some of that as well. I don’t see anything to indicate it’s an RPM

    It would help to post only FULL IMAGE photos and not thumbnails. I can't tell even after blowing up your photo, but lean towards PMD.

    cent coins after 1982 are zinc with a extremely thin copper plating. this plating will swell and bubble up into all kinds of shapes around the letters and numbers since the dies sometimes removes a tiny bit of the protective plating in these areas.The copper plating can also get damaged in other areas.
