I found a 1976 D bicentennial Washingt on quarter with a DDO 002. FS 102. I think this is what I have can anyone help me with this variety and what it's worth... i8
I know for a fact it's double struck with the date and liberty it's a uncirculated Bicentennial quarter it's worth more than 25vcents just being uncirculated
A Doubled die variety has nothing at all to do with being double struck. It's an image on the Die that has been doubled so when it strikes a blank planchet just once it looks doubled. But just to also clarify.. There are what is known as MD - Mechanical doubling and DDD - Die Deterioration Doubling which also have nothing to do with a true Doubled Die variety. Those are caused by different issues and are considered worthless doubling. The website I provided you will also explain that for you.
I went back to see the pics I guess when I took those pics I wasn't paying attention cause it has the DDO line in the date and in God we trust ....I think to I might have to many meds pixel for the site I'm shooting pics with a 21 megapixel camera with a focal lens I think it might be getting these coins to clear
No such thing. You want the most clear image possible to get correct answers. Your coin is only worth face value.
I don't see any hub doubling. Even if there were, it would only be worth what someone is willing to pay for it. There were more than 860 million of the Bicentennial quarters struck in Denver, and Philly struck more than 800 million. To this day, the Bicentennial quarter is still hoarded by collectors, both in uncirculated and circulated condition. ~ Chris
