The name escapes me right now, greased die error, or something like that? Anyways here it is, as you can see the LIB is missing and part of ERTY at the top and the IN & TR are missing on the "IN GOD WE TRUST" along with the 1776 date on the obverse. Oh and the mint mark is plugged, or whatever that's called. The reverse, only QUART in "Quarter" really. I'm not much into errors, I like them but I've never ever gotten a good price for any that I've had in the past! Anyone know how much this coin would be worth, approximately? No reason for any snide remarks like, "it depends how much someone would pay you for it" or anything like that!! The reason I ask is it's probably a good time for me to list it somewhere.
The obverse looks slightly misaligned but its difficult to say why 1976 and the bust seem unaffected....the reverse...?
The reason I asked about the edge is the reeding can tell a lot about cause. It may be a collar deployment error or a tilted die strike. You can read about it here: http://www.error-ref.com/?s=Tilted+die+
The collar looks slightly thicker than normal in some area but not by much. I'm puzzled as to what kind of error it is, could it be a broadstruck? The reeded edge looks normal.
