I am waiting for this sheet to arrive. An original 1976 $2 Chicago
sheet of four (E4 - H4) from the first run. I was wondering if anyone has recorded any serials or is aware of any sheets released for sale from the first run below sheet #4000 or above sheet #6000. This is E4 G 00579330 Star - G 00639330 Star H4 from Sheet 19930..
    I can post better pics when it arrives. Has anyone recorded any serials 1976 $2 G-Star 1st run Sheet -19930.jpg 1976 $2 G 00579930-639930 Star PPosE4-G4 .jpg 1976 $2 G 00579930-639930 Star PPosH4 ..jpg

My 1976 $2 Chicago Star sheet has higher serial numbers than yours.

Darn, just checked my 1976 Star two dollars and they are from Georgia. It does have a green ink spot on the second bill down on the right. No cigar.

    That's because it's from run 2, not run 1.

Observed sheets of 1976 $2 G..* typically fall into two ranges: sheets 4000-6000 of run 1, and sheets 8000-12000 of run 2 (yours is sheet 10250 of run 2). The OP's sheet is rather unexpected. I wonder if there are any more of these out there....

The 1976 $2 star sheets weren't printed for collector sales; they were printed to be used as replacements, and then the leftovers were eventually sold to collectors after the printing of 1976 $2's was ended. So we don't have good data from the BEP concerning which star serials were released in sheets vs. which went into circulation, and so we sometimes get surprises like this.

(By the way: All 1976 $2 stars were printed in runs of 20,000 sheets, so the sheet number is just the remainder when the serials are divided by 20,000.)
