My mother who is a Customer Service Rep at Capitol One bank here on LI just got me 45 sequentially numbered bills, They are suppose to be brand new. Any ideas of valve? I will post starting and ending serial numbers tonight if i get a chance.
You might be able to get slightly more than face value for them. If you sold them on eBay, I don't think you'd get enough over face to cover the fees. I'm just going based on my experience with these bills. I recommend you go to eBay, sign up for an account if you don't have one already (they're free) and search "Completed Listings" for prices of these. When I buy them as parts of collections, I pay face value.
Well with out knowing what branch they are from about $6.00. Minneapolis I are worth about $10 Kansas J are worth about $25 If they are star * notes they are worth alot more!!
Book value is grossly overstated for some of the stuff that continues to circulate. And 1976 $2's still circulate, in fact I spent five of them at the post office today to pay for a registered I was sending.
The bank is H - St. Louis. The starting # is H30639301A and ends at H30636416A. You can see that the 45 span 2 straps. The run in sequence for like 3 at a time, then a gap 5 at a time and so on They are crisp UNC.
All about pricing aside, they are still great bills. A few years ago, Wells Fargo would order specifically for customers. I ask for one pack of 100 $2 bills, and they came fresh 1976 CU sequencial. I quickly ordered more packs and they were all like that. The teller said the delivery guy said they had tons of them. SO, you might ask your mother if she can ask for specific money. Imagine getting fresh rolls of the new lincolns, nickels, $1 coins! Jim
