I have some series 1976 two dollar bills, I was just wondering if these are different than the bills from other years....the picture on the reverse shows the signing of the Declaration of Independence, do all two dollar bills have this reverse? or just the 1976 series? Did they make bicentennial paper money? or was this done only with coins?

so it's not just the 1976 that has the declaration of independence reverse?

The 1995 has the same reverse as the 1976.

Ah, I see...I was thinking that it was some sort of bicentennial note, like they did with the quarters, halves and silver dollars. Well thanks alot for your help, those are some mighty snazzy looking $2's that you posted pictures of. Did they not make any $2's in the years between 1976 and 1995?

In 1976, the US changed their "monies" to celebrate 200 years of the USA. They attempted to revive the $2 bill, so they changed the reverse from the Monticello (found on series 1928, 53, 63) to the signing of the Declaration of Independence (1976, 1995, 2003). Many 1976's are still uncirculated due to their unpopularity.

I think there is also a series 2001 or 03 for the $2.

I don't collect many bills, but one thing I do have is a sheet of 16 $2 bills, 1976, still in the shipping tube. One day, I'll let it go, but for now, it'll stay where it is.
