What grade could this 1975 S bring? I know it's a good one. But don't want to over grade it. haven't looked at these like that. I had got the1975 p,d,s 1970 p,d,s the 1971 p,d,s and the 1969 p,d,s I'll post them on other threads. all pretty nice but the 75 d. I have to see if it has any doubled dies. That 1975s is (correct me if I wrong) is a proof mintage:2,845,450. I’m not sure on grading proofs

Could be. That would make it an impaired proof.

My concern is all the circulation marks on the field. That affects the grade.

Is it a proof? cause it didn't have that shiny Finnish. Yes it is a little damaged.

That would be the definition of an impaired proof. A proof coin that was released into circulation that would alter its appearance and its shine. Either through circulation wear, toning, environmental damage. The finish will be altered.

That 75-S is a proof strike. Look at how square and flat the rims are as compared to the business strikes. You find that one, Shrews?

The 1975-S LMC is a proof only coin according to red book. I believe it is the first year for proof-only S Minted cent.

Shrews, the 1975-S was only struck in proof. What you have is an impaired proof. Your description of a dull not shiny finish is what an impaired proof is due to circulation wear.
