Very cool. They made cents in 1976, why would the obverse be a 1975? Is this made by the mint, or post mint?
I'm wondering if it might have been made by the Patrick Mint. A private company that produced a great many different cent sized bicentennial themed tokens. I don't remember if they did overstrikes on cents or not.
I remember there was a mad dash to get out all things with this celebration. Probably trying to get ahead of the game before the actual date. I think I heard the U.S. Mint is going to issue a 2017S S.E. this year? That's pretty ridiculous. Kind of backwards of this cent.
They can't strike a 2017 S S.E. this year, it's against the law. Besides they did one last year. They do plan on making a 2018 S S. E. though.
