    I can only tell you that it appears to be a copper-colored nickel.
    I don't believe anyone can tell you, with absolute certainty, how it got that way, by looking at pictures.

    I don't think i's a sinthered planchet not red enough they come in different colors RED, black, Brown ,and a charcol greyish color
