If you compare your coin to the 74 s proof you'll see the tie the same.JMO Welcome to Cointalk Here's a image of a 74 proof (not my image) your appears to be a business strike. Dave
Agree with the other posts. How about a comparison photo with your bow tie, and another bow tie to show why you think there is an error?
OP . Can you get a closeup of the date and mint-mark together . With the mint-mark being level . Here's what the OP talking about . http://varietyvista.com/01b LC Doubled Dies Vol 2/Obverse Design Varieties.htm
Good observation Robert. What you are looking is at one of the markers to identify whether that Lincoln cent is a small or a large 1974 Lincoln cent. The horizontal bar of the "4" is short on the small date and long on the large date. The round tip in the bow tie is an indication (marker) the you have a small date, the proof has a pointy tip which is indication that is a large date. Business strikes of the 1974 Lincoln cents were minted with a large and small dates in about the same amount. So yours is a 1974 Lincoln cent small variety. You have a good eye on determining differences in coins. Continue using this skill to find errors and varieties. Best wishes!

Here’s another view of a proof. The mirror surfaces are quite different from the circulation strikes.
