I have a penny from 1974. It has a dull silver like color. I tried to look for information, but I could not find anything on this coin. Does someone know if there were any zinc, steel plated or silver like pennies struck in 1974? I have kept this coin since it seems rare and was hoping to find something on it. If its weight and diameter is normal, then it's almost certainly plated. Or perhaps it was dipped in mercury.
