I recently found this penny, I've never seen anything like it and can't find any information on it on the internet. It's a 1974 D penny, but the bottom right half of the 4 appears "cut off". I don't think it's grease, because the part of the 4 that is there is normal height and suddenly drops off. Anyone have any ideas what this could be?

I think the 4 was there originally but took a direct hit and the metal got shoved over. PMD.

    It's called a NON ERROR
This is what happens when the last digit gets a direct hit from a coin wrapper machine.. it's common.
