Well after 2 years of searching Halves, I think I finally found my first 1974-D DDO Kennedy. I've been searching the web for confirmation and found Ken Potters' site. The similarities between the one I found and one posted on Ken's site (http://koinpro.tripod.com/OFD/1974D50cV001.jpg) have me convinced, but I'm loking for second opinions from the forum.

Another question; if this is a DDO, are there several varieties? The reason I ask, is I that also searched e-bay and those photos didn't appear the same as doubling I have. I also thought that the 1974-D DDO commanded a higher price than what e-bay has been fetching.

Any insight as to general pricing for tis variety would also be appreciated.

Looks to be the same as the one on Ken Potters site. The S is the give away in your photo I think you sould take a better pic of the trust because at the angle you have shown the 74 looks to be strike doubled. Like I said it's not it is DDO but a better pic is aways prefered.

Your DDO half does appear to be a 74D DDO-001, LDS. There are not any other CONECA listed DDO varieties for the 74D, only the one. There is however one listing for a 74D DDR-001.

    Hi,
I just saw this. This is definitely the 1974 D DDO that is listed in the "Red Book".
The reason yours looks different is due to wear and the state of the die when the coin was struck.
    Nice Find,
    Bill

Morgan...I was just pointing out there is another doubled die in the 74D's to look for. the picture is of the 74D DDR-001, PUP in the photo is of a meduim spread (notching) on AMERICA and the stars under.
