I didn't clean it. And I agree, never clean. I noticed it because it was nearly bu. It came from a box I was CRHing. Do you think it's a DDO? I'm new to searching for errors? Thanks, Jasonb
Great. Thanks very much. I'll learn to tell the difference. I'm going through a couple boxes today so I'm hoping to find some good ones. Appreciate all of the help JasonB
Welcome to the forum Jasonb :hail: A classic example of 'single strike' - flat field doubling (a form of 'strike doubling'). Notice that the main primary image is undisturbed by this type of strike doubling. That's what it looks like to me.
Ck www.coppercoins.com Rock & JC I agree 100% there is only a few known DV and most are 1974-D&S. I have not seen anyone's for the Philly coin.but there is a small date & a large date for all 74
1974 doubling? Is this a 1974 error? Look at liberty...you can't even make it out. I could hardly see it until I blew it up with my camera. Anyone? thanks
I don't really understand why coins shouldn't be cleaned to retain their value ? The brown coat of dirt tarnishing the surface of circulated coins has no value either.
Somebody put that in a strong acid. If you were put in a strong acid we wouldn't be able to make you out.
