I was wondering if these would have any premium to them if you had a whole roll? I have one, and they are uncirculated. For some reason the dealer put 52 of them in the roll, which was paper, but I put them in a Whitman penny tube, and the other two would not fit. From what I have read, the 1973-S cent has the lowest cent mintage from the San Francisco mint. Thanks for any info.
Lowest compared to what? Only the 1969, 1970, 1971, 1972 and 1974 San Francisco cents have higher mintages. Every other year from 1909 to 2009 have a lower mintage (or no mintage for 17 years). Are they worth anything? Probably something, but not enough to even buy a pair of shoes with. It they are all real nice, you might get 25¢ apiece for them.
317,177,295 Minted if the Mint's reports are accurate. True one of the lower mintages but only worth about $0.30 each. And that is the selling price from a dealer. A dealer would probably give you $0.20 each. For the entire roll, maybe a little more. That is odd that as you mentioned it is not a high mintaged coin and it's value is just not up there. Possibly if you hold on to them for about 20, 30 or more years, they will go up to over $0.50 each. Maybe even more. Still nice find.
