A grease fill die made that L disappear. Wait for other opinions.

Welcome to CT Audra. Your cent appears normal, with wear and tear from circulation. If you haven't already purchased a Red Book, please do so. Even an older one will give much information about coins. You can ignore the values as they were out of date as soon as it hit the shelf. Also, when you post photos, please click on FULL SIZE under the downloaded photo as it can be easily enlarged for better assessment. For the benefit of so many older members here, please correctly orientate them and crop out unwanted backgrounds. Post entire obverse and reverse and then closeups of areas in question. Good luck on your searches.

It's only worth one cent. It has plenty of circulation wear and the missing L is common. It was caused by a Die filled with grease and debris in that area.
    Welcome to CT.
